Plaster

Respond to this poem.....

We do not often carry the weight of the world on our shoulders
instead it lays at our feet and we trample and stomp upon it
wading through the muck and making my shoes wet with mud
the rain never seems to wash any of it away or not so one can tell
how did this all end up on the ground? like plaster that fell from the walls

  1. Every mark we make
    Is just another mistake
    For upon our wake
We destroy, and make everything fake
    Our lives are lies
Yet we still ignore the cries
    The poison we feed
    Destroys the original seeds
Of the world we once knew

  2. Today's Poem #1 Sep 17,2012
Today is another day in September morning and the mark of the middle of the month approaches
It is 5am, and the morning dew has yet to fall
I see the darkness mourning the approach of day light, just as we humans do
I hear the sound of the coffee pot stirring, feeling the roam with aromas of all sorts
I smell the eggs sizzling on the pan, and the smell of toasting bread warms me
I taste the air hoping for the food to finish quickly
I wonder on whether the weather will be kind to me today, and coordinate with my outfit
I want this day to be over already, though I know it has just started
I need to brush my teeth, but I must wait until the food has settled
I have my house keys, and my homework from the night before
I know that I must succeed my family's expectations, and make an image they'll be proud of
Tomorrow will be another day in September that will be completely different from today

  3. Today's Poem #2 September 18,2012

Today is September 18, a tuesday like any other
It is 9:40 am and I wish it was already another day
I see words lifting from their pages, and finding new homes in the mind of others
I hear the music flowing, escaping from my instructors computer, soothing our minds
I smell the sweet scents of another's late breakfast
I taste the remains of my breakfast from early in the morning
I wonder on whether the sun will remain dormant in it's sleep or awake, and scorch the earth upon its wake
I want some water to quench my thirst, and clear my conscious of it's desires
I need some caffeine to eliminate the feelings of falling into a deep slumber
I have only the music to keep me awake, and focused
I know that I should sleep more at night, but why sleep when I'll rest enough after death
Tomorrow will not be the same, and will be different from today, just as any day is

  5. We do not worry about our worries as much as we should we walk all over them without any care in the world and that no matter what we do theres nothing we can do to wash our problems away and that the reason they end up on the ground like plaster from the walls is because tomorrow is a new day to start off fresh with no cares of our past no matter how dark it is.

  6. This poem makes me feel like it applies to almost every person out there. We can be so selfish and not even see it. We can do so much damage and not even mend it. We can overlook, neglect, and abuse every pure resource or object we have and not even think to say sorry til what we had is destroyed. Then it can never be fixed. We destroy the house we depend on, let it crumble to the ground, then say sorry.

  7. I just wish for all these people to just grow up.
Most people do not really care about one person based on How rich you are,
How you dress, How you look at things. Just Let the Person be a person and just open your ears and listen to what they have to say. Because You never know how they can feel. That Person really doesn't want to be their either because they must already know how you act based on your age. No matter what, we are judged all the time. It sucks to admit it but its the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help me god

  10. We don't know what to do so we worry
We hope not to make a mistake
But it's life and it happens
We know what what was done
And fix our mistake to have no worries.

  11. I think the poem is saying that we often let our minds drag things on for years to come and worries will follow.

  12. we make too many mistakes, that's why the world is at our feet in the mud. Plus that people are pretty much absent-minded about how things works in the world anyways.

  13. I think it's trying to say that we have to drop the biggest burden we carry before it crushes us completely, so we can finally walk on life with liberated feet.
And all the wounds we received from the weight only made us stronger.

  14. In opinion, this says that the world is a hard place to live in. And if you make it more difficult for yourself, then it's a more hard place to live in.

  15. this poem is about our responsibilities and priorities and how we neglect them. We expect that in time they will just go away, they never do.

  16. To me, this poem says how stressful the world can be and with all the burdens that have to be held on our shoulders.

  17. These dreams they never leave they dim down
    they come and they go
They change and watch them fade
    they are always there
    Dreams they never leave

  20. I think that this poem is about the fact that many people disregard the worlds problems and simply ignore them.People hate knowing that our world is not perfect and instead of fixing what is wronged, they just brush it off their shoulders. The imperfect aspirations will not just disappear, the ignorance of individuals will never help the world become a better place.
